Prime Focus Ku alignment issues
I have a prime focus dish. I have always used "C" band. Today I decided to hook up the Ku side of the lnb and play with it. At first, I thought perhaps the Ku side of the lnb was not working because I couldn't get signal from any linear polarized transponders. I then pointed at 121w and could receiv...

Re: 6ft Mesh - Maximize Signal
Thats a good idea using the sun and a mirror to check your shape (and also LNB alignment).
A laser tape measure pointing through your scaler ring hole could do a similar task.

Re: V7 HD autoroll
So with that said the V7 refrences the softcam.key file (or firmware) and does not do a autoroll. An autoroll is where the receiver automatically harvests the new key from the transport stream. Based on what you said, Im assuming the V7 does not harvest the new key from the transport stream.

Inline booster
When you insert an inline booster 20db Freq 900-2400Mhz into a C-Band LNB feed, you can increase your quality by 2-4%
I saw my CBand quality on some frequencies increase from 31% to 35%

Prime focus Ku ONLY LNB
Can anyone recommend a Ku ONLY LNB for a prime focus dish? I would like to run some Ku tests comparing the signal strength differences of a 6ft mesh prime focus vs a .96m offset Ku dish. Im curious if some frequencys will do better on one dish or another. Also curious if one dish will respond better...

Re: 6ft Mesh - Maximize Signal
I did happen to notice the LNB was not pointing dead center. I bent the rods holding the scaler ring and immediately saw an improvement. I then rechecked my elevation on my direct south satellite and got a little more improvement in signal. Does solid metal dishes get better signal than mesh dishes?

Re: V7 HD autoroll
Does the V7 autoroll? If so, why does it need a softcam.key file?

Re: RS232 CABLE CONNECTION
You can make a simple 9 pin null modem cable. Pins 2 & 3 swap. and pin 5 is straight through. The other pins dont get used in this simple version.

6ft Mesh - Maximize Signal
Hi There. Ive got a small 6ft mesh. Im located in central California and for me 125W is slightly off from direct south from my location. A few transponders come in great such as 125W 3960 H 29270 @ 27% quality and 125W 4080 H 30000 @ 31% quality. Some transponders do not come in so well such as 125W...

Re: Finding Sats
A tone finder is my biggest friend. It helps allot to find sats that have power on their transponders turned down or if you are on a fringe area. Ill spend an entire afternoon looking for new satellite configurations. Ill leave the sat tone box inline for the whole day while I am playing with pointi...
