What is the latest software version for the V7 Combo? I currently have V2.24.92.357 dated 10/9/16. When I tried to update I received a message that I could not because my update was an older version (or something like that).

Check that you are choosing the correct version from your USB, most download versions have the same name after you unpack the .rar folder.

The last file I found to download was FREESAT_V7COMBO_20170524.rar and it unpacks as Freesat_V7Combo.bin. Is this the best one? Do I have to change the name to flash.bin?

After you unpack files, no need change name file. you can upgrade that files.
