update the firmware to box by allcode mode

Post by maxblue »

Forgive my ignorance.
My problem is that I do not know what it is
update the firmware to box by allcode mode

if someone were so kind
and I defined it or explained I would appreciate it

buy my box six months ago.
I have never changed the software

still works well and opens channels
with the software that it brought from the factory, but
I would like to know to put the last one
software

First find the software for your model (V7) in the download center.
Download the software and unpack it from the ".zip" folder.
Place a copy of the software file ("Freesat_v7_hd.bin" if your unit is a V7HD) on the main part of a USB stick.

First, before doing a software upgrade, save you data base (Channel and sat lists) from the USB back up menu.
The "freesat_v7_db_ssdata.bin" option saves other data like your favorites list etc.
Also go to the conditional access menu and do a "Export" using the color buttons as listed at the bottom of the screen.
This saves your "softcam.key" file, that is the codes for powervu and other encrypted channels.

With the stick in your unit go to the USB upgrade menu and do the "main code" or "All code" upgrade.
After the unit reboots you can reload your user DB file and "Import" your sofcam.key file.

Good luck

Sorry for (hi-jacking) your thread.
Why is it when I try to upgrade my receiver via the USB (in the upgrade mode)(ALL CODE), the upgrade file is not found on the usb(which has been unzipped).
Any help advice requested.

Stretch, format your flash disk to fat32 again and load the software and try again.

Update to the above post.
Reformatted the USB (FAT32) put software on the USB, and again the software is not found .
Took the receiver to (factory reset) after saving everything plus softcam.
Tried to carry out a FORCED update again no luck.
Checked the software before update and after so called FORCED update and is still the same V3.02.102.501 21/02/2017
Also have tried another USB, same results.

Is there any thing else that I can try.

Thanks in advance.

You could try the RS232 method.

I also found when using RS232 that different versions would load and others would not.

Try the USB with different older versions and then upgrade again.

Further update, have received my new USB(which is FAT32) saved Channels list / Soft cam to another USB and transferred to my computer.
Tried to Update the firmware of FREESAT V7 MAX with older software and again with the newest software both times the receiver did not find the software on the USB, transferred the Channel List & Softcam to the new USB, inserted into the receiver (via User DB) the receiver found this.
Looks like I am unable to down grade / upgrade. Had a go doing a force down load, again no luck.
Looks like I may have to purchase another receiver then update to the latest Powervu.
Thanks for all your help.

Simple and easy problem to fix, when you extract the files that you downloaded the files are in a folder, the receiver will not see the files in the folder, open the folder and left click on the firmware file then right click on it then send it to your USB, then the receiver will see it.
