27.5w BBC Channels Firmware Request

Post by fergal »

Hello, Can we have a firmware upgrade on the V7 HD to enable the viewing of the BBC package on intelsat 907 27.5w?
The channels are BISS but also have the PMT´s encrypted so without firmware to enable these to be scanned we have no way to view them.
Nearly every other receiver on the market can open these channels so we really do need this to work.
Thanks in advance. Fergal.

I can confirm the receiver finds the frequency/SR in blind scan but can't scan the channels. Any way we could edit the channel data on a PC (PID and SID are known) and force recognition?

Hello, I have tried the channel editor as i have the sid and pids but there are 2 problems with the db editor, it does not allow edit of ecm-number and when you add the channels after creating the list in the db editor the box thinks they are radio channels. The only way around this is a firmware upgrade on the box. All other similar boxes had to do the same such as all xxxxx boxes, xxxxx boxes, xxxxx and virtually every other box on the market, all these boxes i talk about have firmware making the box able to scan the channels even though pmt´s are scrambled and auto-linking them to a special seperate bbc biss key. This key on all these boxes is seperate from all other biss keys and is the same key for all the channels and they are all on the same one transponder. If you get firmware on this box to enable this you will sell huge amounts of these around europe due to the fta versions on astra 28,2e being on the uk spot beam, so people outside the uk need to receive them from intelsat 907 instead.

V7 has two Biss sections, one just Biss the other MGCAMD Biss, did you try in both?
But I guess that without proper channel recognition it won't work. I hope they try to fix this.

You will need a receiver like a Technomate to receive these channels, through the (ADD CHANNELS) side of the menu.
The Video is H264 and the Audio is MPEG4.

Maybe a work around. hard to do but worth a try. Find another sat with a couple of channels with same channel and audio type. Trick the box and create an alternate 27.5W sat (maybe call 27W) scan those channels. Now, go and edit the TP info with the correct 27.5W BBC TP info. Now make a dump of the V7HD and using the DB editor change the channel name , Video-Audio-PCR.

it does not work, even with the latest firmware the channels at Intelsat 907 will not scan, it needs to be changed in the firmware, it can't be difficult to implement as xxxxx have done this across their receivers a long time ago also xxxxxx and xxxxxxt allow this, usually they show as a data service not tv-radio channel but then clear when you input the biss key.
if this can be fixed there would be demand for this receiver.

if you follow instructions I wrote in a previous post you will have channels with the ecm number. All you will need to do is edit the Vpid, Apid, PPid and sid. And of course the channel name
