Therefore I wanted to upgrade to the previous firmware, but could not.

The latest firmware had this comment in the Log:
"20160728
-Freesat_v7max.bin
Please backup your channel list then update box by allcode mode.
if you box don't find this firmware from usb stick. Please update the box to FREESAT_V7MAX_20160606 the first."
Maybe you need to load that version first.

Have you tried the boot loader method?
Save firmware file in USB pen as "flash.bin"
Insert pen in receiver
Power on the receiver while repeatedly pressing Menu button on the remote.
It should say upgrading across the top of the screen, wait for it to complete and reboot.
