Recovery V7 HD

Post by tvsatelite2013 »

Good evening everyone, a customer has locked the device with the 4-digit password and that customer has lost the password, how can I recover this password or install the system again? It is possible to do this via USB or have to do with an RS-232 cable?

You can do a flash.bin recovery.

Place a copy of the unpacked software (the .bin file) on a USB stick and rename it "flash.bin"
With the USB in the unit, power on while repeat pressing "Menu" on the remote. You must use the V7 remote on the V7.
The unit should reload the software.

This will reload the software, but will clear your user setting and channels sats etc.
You will then need to reload your user data, if you have a copy, or set up each sat and scan it again.

I tried to do the process but I did not succeed, I downloaded the freesat V7HD firmware, and renamed the file to "flash.bin", and put it in a pendriver, rebooted the equipment and pressed the MENU key, and entered the screen of upgrad, but he did not read the file, where am I going wrong?

When you have downloaded the file from Freesat you must unpack the folder by right clicking on the .zip folder and select "Extract All".
After that you will see the files inside the unpacked folder.
Then you rename the software file as "flash.bin"

You do not rename the .zip folder, this will not work.

Hello!

I did exactly how you described but didn't work. I renamed the archive already unpacked. It tries to load the archive, send a mensage "Usb upgrade! Do not power off", but it doesn't load. Then, it starts with the logo of the freesat and changes the number of the load on the visor until 98% and it stays locked. Is it possible to do this of the other form or with an RS-232 cable? I tried with the last two files upgrades.

Thank you!

There is also this instruction for the V8 Finder.
The V7HD is done the same way.

Have you tried doing a flash recovery?

Place a copy of the unpacked software (the .bin file) on a USB stick and rename it "flash.bin"
With the USB in the unit, power on while repeat pressing "Menu" on the remote. You must use the V7 remote on the V7.
The unit should reload the software.

Also download a fresh copy of the software, yours may be corrupted.

Meu V7 Max travou no código L097. Aproveitei e adaptei um cabo que tinha com conector DB9, segui as orientações aqui do fórum e consegui êxito por duas vezes. Tudo certo novamente.
