Because the box no power supply enough to release to the external HDD or not.I just suspect that the box works with flash drive so it should also with 500 GB or 1 TB of external HDD? finally I need to know as well

According to some people here hard drives do work but they need to be formatted in NTFS by a windows computer. I have USB with separate power supply formatted NTFS but it will not recognize it.
