FreesatV7 Max Black screen,Please help

Post by ghosmane »

There was no electricity for last five days. Now black screen coming up on TV via V7 max STB. AUDIO is ok. (TV condition good)
I've made some of these efforts to fix.
1) Main Manu>Green button>Stop button=Black and Blank Screen

2)USB>flash.bin>Manu repeat>UP9=Black and blank screen

(Channels Audio was ok before flash.bin upgrade. I using AV & tria'd RF output also.) Is this firmware problem or Motherboard? Please tell us how to fix it.

Just six months ago it was purchased by Aliexpres.
please help me, thanks.

There are three ways to see video from the V7 Max, HDMi, AV and the RF PAL output.

Which one are you using and have you tried the other video outputs?

Is there anything displayed on the Max front display?

Do you see the Freesat logo on your TV when the box boots?

Can you see the channel changing on the front display as you change channel?

If you are using the HDMI try the AV cable.

1)I using AV cabal,Not HDMI. And tried RF PAL output.

2)Channel Numbers was coming up on the front display before the 'UP9' upgrade.channel could change, audio was coming. '----' appears on front display after 'UP9' upgrade.

3)There is no logo, nothing other than a black or blank screen on the TV display. The blue TV display will be blacked after STB boots.

Try the HDMI output, on another TV if yours has no HDMi.
Try the other outputs on another TV.

When you tried the PAL output, did you connect the PAL output to a TV aerial input and scan all frequencies for a signal?

There will be no channel numbers showing on the front panel now as after the software update the unit will be in a factory reset state.
You would normally reload your user data to have the channels back.
There was no electricity for last five days.
When this happened was there a fault in your house.
This may have killed part of your TV or Freesat box.

Yes brother, when the power went out, the tree fell on the power line.

This is not the TV problem, it's going well with another STB.

It looks like some other part of the V7 MAX has been troubled.

Could this be the part that caused this problem? Can I fix it here?

The problem with Satellite boxes is that the dish and LNB are outside and grounded via the dish poll.
When the tree fell on the power wire the fault current could return to your house via the dish / poll / LNB and cable to the satellite box.
Once there it could pass to the TV earth via the AV or HDMi cables and burn their outputs.

Re the Arial input fq's.
The Freesat box modulates the AV signal into a PAL analogue, old fashion, TV signal and outputs this through the PAL TV connectors above the RS232 port on the back of the V7Max.
Connect this output to the same input on your TV and then scan the old analogue frequencies, I think they use UHF channel 30.
If this still works you may still be able to use your box.

As for fixing it. These new circuit boards are so integrated and all surface mount components that make it very difficult to fix them.
It is worth a look inside to see if there is anything burn.
Good luck

Thank you for your advice. There was no burning clue on the Motherboard when checking your advice. But HDMI is working, Other outputs are not coming to benefit.

What can I do now?
Is there any other idea other than HDMI to AV Converter?

Buyimg a converter would cost much the same as a new V7 Max.
You could buy a new one and sell this one as HDMi output only.

AV converter is available in market here,FreeSat is not available in any of these markets.

Freesat must be booked online for months.I've been working hard to get past this.

It should also be considered whether or not to lose money for Freestat STB in the wake of Channel's 68, 57,105 ° E....
