Both WSJX and KRBK Fox Channels Scrambled On 99w!

Post by Akacheebe »

Fox on WSJX is 3826 H 6650 and KRBK is 3845 H 8702 on 99w. Anyone else seen this and know what encryption they are using? WSJX has a program that my Wife and I watch every even at dinner time, and now it's gone???? This about the time I would normally make some derogatory statement about their mother, but I won't!!

Hummm, just noticed this myself on my V7? Doesn't say encrypted but got a blank screen and no audio either.

Edit: Just checked on my S9 and it's showing scrambled also.

From what I've been able to find out, KRBK and WSJX, both Fox affiliates, were REQUIRED to scrambled due to FIFA World Cup broadcasts. Not sure why the others were also scrambled though or whether they will go back to FTA after the games are over.

Found this post at another site today:

Signal Update:
Having to scramble our satellite signal (because of demands from FIFA World Soccer Association) has caused all kinds of technical problems.
Some TV's have changed our channels from 49.1-49.4 to 49.3-49.6.
Some TV's can't pick up our signal at all.
Some cable companies don't have equipment to descramble our signal, and our channels aren't there at all.
The final World Cup soccer game is Sunday.
We will cease scrambling Monday morning, and revert everything to normal.
We absolutely apologize for all the signal issues. We've heard from dozens and dozens of people who have lost our signal. Thanks for your patience

What happened? Monday night I had 60% signal and 39% quality, last night I have 60% signal and ZERO quality. Has to programming been moved to a different transponder, of the transponder turned off? and info would be welcomed.
Thanks.

Try scanning both TPs manually. Also try lowering or\raising the TP frequency a bit

OK tried editing the freq up/down no joy! tried SR up/down no joy!
upgraded to newest firmware no joy! the signal bar goes from 60% to 93% and the quality bar goes to 30% color changes from brown to green and then back to brown. It's like the signal doesn't lock. I have the same problem on 103 w 4040

Sometimes deleting the transponder and then rescanning helps!

OK ,That didn't work! I even rebooted the stb after deleting TP and after adding it back in to the TP list.

Thanks for the input though.

Well 3845 H 8703 and 3827 H 6650 has a Signal of 60 % and Zero % quality
the other 2 TP's are coming in like gang busters. Could be environmental, heat, clouds and monsoon here in AZ

I'm in Arizona and all my satellites across the arc average are in the mid 80's or higher across the arc even with the monsoons. Not sure what size dish you have of what type of feedhorn and and Lnb's your using?

Jim,
I have a 6 ft mesh dish with a 3 year old BSC 421 LNB, for the most part, I have always got the sats & TP's I was after with this system. I also have a 10 ft mesh dish, but the winds get so bad in my area, I prefer not to set the 10 footer up.

I would most diffinitely get that 10' up. On C-band the bigger is better. I never used a lnbf on a on a large dish, and have on my smaller Ku dishes. I have heard some folks have good results with them. I've had dish's in Arizona since 85' down in the Valley and up north and never had a problem as long as there installed properly. That 10' will make you smile when you get her up. :D

I am looking into getting a new polar mount for the 10 footer, I lost the ring to hold the dish panels frame to the mount, but I am also thinking about trying a conical scalar ring on the bsc 421 to kick up the signal up some. I did have a 69% signal and 36% quality on G-16 3845 and the next day as the TP went FTA I never got a signal with any quality again.

What make of dish do you have? You've lost me on the conical scalar ring? I have one of them that I tried with a lnbf on a small 39" to see if if would get any C-band Sat's with little success!

Heh, I had a 7.5ft SAMI mesh dish a few years back that used DMX741 LNBF and it sucked on Ku stuff too. Finally got another 10 footer to replace it and never looked back! It's just another instance where BIGGER IS BETTER!!
