You first need to plug in a harddrive that's formatted FAT32 (perhaps NTFS also works for the DVR function, I haven't yet tried that. You for sure need FAT32 when upgrading firmware and such). Then go to MENU, MEDIA, DVR Configuration. Time Shift is the choice at the top. I just got my receiver, so I don't yet know what the difference is between those two settings. But anyway, that's how you set it up.

timeshift is a little annoying, u cant remove timeshift icon once u "enable" it, and also u have to press the timeshift button in order to start recording the channel, it doesnt start automatically after switching channels, so if u dont enable it first, it wont save you, this is very uncomfortable
