With Ku band I find I loose signal on weak TP's when the LNB gets rain or mist on it.
Wiping morning dew or rain off the LNB restores signal.
Sometimes I loose signal due to atmospheric conditions, dust, charged partials etc.
Heavy rain can do this too, but I seldom get heavy rain.
Maybe adjust your dish for a little more signal.

There is technical explanation for this.
water atoms have a resonance frequency close to frequency of KU band.
So what happen is micro wave energy is absorbed by water molecules in the air and less signal is received at the dish.
( This is how things get heated in a microwave oven)
C band is selected such a way that water molecules are not resonance with the frequency of transmission.
As you know C band is the band first selected for satellite communication and they had enough options to select the frequency.
