Dutch channels problems on firmware 17-12-2018 on v8 Nova

Post by hinomura »

This morning after updated the receiver GTMedia v8 Nova orange to the last firmware (17-12-2018), was possible found dutch channels after adding a few TP (transponders) that it was not in the TP list, like TV Drenthe on Frecuency 12187, Symbol Rate 29900 and Horizontal Polarity on Astra 3B at 23.5°E (it was a big surprise!!)
This did not worked before (previous firmware) even if add the corresponding TPs (zero Quality signal)
But, after a while (15-20 minutes), no signal on screen, strength remain the same but zero quality level.
Same problem on 11739 V 29900 (CD Info & Nieuws)
Same problem on 12168 V 27500 (Ocko)
Same problem on 11856 V 29900
and others...
I checked the same channels in other satellite receiver and works fine.
In other words, all the channels of Canal Digitaal do not find again after having found them initially on Astra 3B at 23.5ºE
Besides all that, now there are more frequent reboots.
I have restored the factory settings, searched again but now all channels of Canal Digitaal do not find them after having found them initially on Astra 3B at 23.5ºE.

I will be very grateful if the GTMedia team can fix it soon

Do you have the LNB settings correct.

For a Universal LNB you need to use 9750 / 10600 LNB setting.
These LNB's have two parts, one for the low band and one for the high band, where those TP' are.
These are switched between by having the 22kHz tone "ON" for the high band. This is automatic for the 9750 / 10600 LNB setting.
If you have set 9750 and 22kHz "Off" you will not get those TP's.
Or you could set 10600 and 22kHz "ON" and you will only get the high band TP's.

Another reason could be signal quality. Your other box may have a better receiver.
You may have had a day with good atmosphere conditions.
Check your dish, I have had spiders sit on the wire inside my C band LNB's at night and that blocks the weak signals. Also any mist on the LNB face can drop out low signals.

Other users are having issues with Ccam channels that use the wifi to get codes.
It looks to me like this is being blocked by network software in the Freesat unit and or by the internet providers on behalf of the PayTv providers.

Good luck
