Re: North America Firmware
Hello MYTV
The Freesat V8 Super included some ECM/ EMM keys embedded to the firmware. Not all of the NA TPs/ Chanel's are there. Some channels take more time than others to open. For those that doesn't open you need to write them down and Google to get the keys for. Once you find the keys you need to learn how to enter them using the RC or create a Softcam.Key file so it can be load by the USB. I suggest you do reading around. There is a lot of info. Regards

This is a EMM log or TS record??
Re: North America Firmware
The V8 super has a unique way of gathering a record bin file.
After viewing a pdf on it it goes rather quickly.
Was able to gather info using a new out of the box V8 super that had not been modified with any softcam key file.
Determined which transponders did not work properly and in most cases the recording only took just a few seconds to complete.
Most files ranged in the 3500kb to 7900kb range and there were 3 transponders where the files were on 2 was 2162kb and another was 2632kb,anything less was discarded and retried until the file was larger.
almost all took less than 15 seconds to record on any transponder.
The biggest challenge was getting all of these files sent out as they needed to be zipped up and kept under certain file size limits to send properly.
But now the leg work is done so hopefully we will see some exciting changes coming to the V8 and the V7 receivers soon for N.A.

I never received the documentRambo wrote:Please check your mail. send one document to you.
Re: North America Firmware
You can't get a big enough sample in 15 seconds to be useful for extracting keys of any kind.
Re: North America Firmware
Hi, I want to thank you for the North America channel list that you posted. Works great in my V8 Super. I may try it in my V7. Thankstoomanyreceivers wrote:How do you catch data with the V8 Super that you need?Rambo wrote:

Re: North America Firmware
Do not load the V8 DB into the V7. There is also a V7 DB for NA created by toomanyreceivers. Go to the V7 download section.

No problem it was my pleasure to create these lists.flody1 wrote: Hi, I want to thank you for the North America channel list that you posted. Works great in my V8 Super. I may try it in my V7. Thanks
As CPR43 has said the V8 Super Satellite list does not work in the V7.
When I created it I tried and it failed so that is why there were 2 separate satellite lists with the same satellites, just made with different receivers.
The V7 satellite list is now listed here:
http://freesat.cn/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1318
CPR43 moved this to the V7 download area so others may find it easier.

Re: North America Firmware
guys happy new year. i need info how to configure my v8 super so that i could view ses1 channels
Re: North America Firmware
Here is the problem people.
The V8 Super and the V7 HD do not have many of the keys for North America as there is very few who are willing to help catch the data required.
A .ts recording is needed and the files are too large for me to upload to them and the "QQ" messenger program they use will not work here on my system.
I have the info required but someone else in North America is needed who can actually record and get the data to freesat is needed.
So is anyone capable and willing?
The recording part is easy to do.
most files will be over 1gb and some may be more so you need to be able to send or upload to the internet large enough files or use the "QQ" IM service.
I can let you know which ones need recording.
If your not capable of doing it there is no need to respond.
You will need a good line of sight from 91W to 135 W
there are a few on 91w, 101w, 103w, 107w, 113w, 121w, 123w, 125w,131w, 135w.
If you can see 55w & 58 w there are a couple more over there.
This would bring these receivers for North America up to par and give them a lot more value to all of us using them.
If your interested pm me and let me know your location as only those in North America need to respond.
