Best LNB for solid and Mesh Dish's for freesat v8

Post by rj2010 »

Good day..
I want to solve my freezing problem with channels that sometime play and sometimes say no signal apart from the diseq prob i have but il connect it directly to stb.
I seem to be stuck at deciding what lnb noise figure to go for.
I have 3lnbs single output.. 2x 17k 1x 15k.
I read online 13k is the best..
When i use 17k on 3.1 meter dish on intelsat all frequency's pop up.. But when i use my 15k cband lnb 70% of signals pop up.. I thought 15k would be better?

But on my solid 1.8m dish my 15k seems to win the 17k? Pointing to is20 my satfinder says signal 60% freesat v8 says 55%. But when my 17k is inserted into dish i get 50% signal and other transponders show 0-15% ?
Im planning to buy twin output lnb and want to replace my current ones cause my freesat sometimes freeze on picture i want it to be stable.. Im more focus on the meah dish for better signal but need to know whay noise figure is the best.. The dish is on a ground mount 3meters from ground..

Titanium LNB
Noise Figure15°K (typical)
Gain 65dB (typical)
C2W-PLL C-band LNBF Dual (2) Outputs Wideband 3.4 - 4.2GHz

This my help on weak transponders.
it is hard to trust what you read on specs as most are to sell LNBs
this LNB has a good reputation, 1 have 2 of these and are happy with them.
if you have good a signal you wont see much difference, but will help on the weak ones.

Thanks for the response.. Iv seem to have miss spelling in post.. I ment 15k dont received much but 17k received all.. So 13k on mesh dish isnt better?

Yes the lower the better.
but specs are not the same as testing 1 LNB to another.
like i said lots of printed specs are to sell LNBs.

I am using an Orthomode feedhorn with dual CBAND lnbs and works great with my V8's.
LNBs connected to a Directv 4x4 swith and have 3 V8's connected at same time feeding from the Orthomode setup.

BTW: purchased from overseas for $61.00 shipped including the Orthomode feedhorn and 2x CBAND LNBs
