Re: V8 super
All works fine on Astra 28A with very little freezing and fast response.
Recordings work OK.
EPG and Info still overwrite old data but I can forgive that (and it makes me laugh!).
All ways found that internet ping was poor (>250mS) when older software froze but this software seems to cope with the slow ping.
Not sure if it's anything to do with freezing but setting 'TS Delay' at 500mS seems to help reduce freezing Anybody know what 'TS Delay' is?

I found the TS delay in the conditional access menu.SkippyUK wrote:Not sure if it's anything to do with freezing but setting 'TS Delay' at 500mS seems to help reduce freezing Anybody know what 'TS Delay' is?
I would expect it delays the start of time shift recording to stop the record feather clashing with the other software after a channel change.
Th Freesat units do not full time record for time shift. They start after you press the pause button.
Other brands like Skybox have full time TS. This means you can rewind a channel you are watching to the point that you changed channel.
With this type of true time shift a delay would make sense.
That the Freesat units claim 4Gb for "TS data" on any USB stick you plug in, even if you have not used time shift, suggests that there is some remnant of this full time TS still in Freesat software.

Re: V8 super
Interesting, unless I'm reading this wrong, why would TS delay be in mS as it can take several seconds to change channel and re-sync picture and sound?
If previous post is correct, TS Delay would have no effect on freezing but others have found it to be beneficial - maybe a side effect.....

Re: V8 super
I would expect the TS Delay to simply buffer the incoming stream before processing any of the packets.
Therefore, a 500ms delay gives you another half second to wait for a response from a marginal server before the receiver has to give up and freeze the pic.
