Re: GTMEDIA_V8 Series Bug Tracking System
I know you have being around for some time. You need to keep trying the USB process first. Trying different firmwares and with different sizes (4-8 GB) USB devices. Here are some instructions from Feralkiwi. Go over and over and try:tanka wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 11:55 amV8x Stuck on boot.Received the v8x and v8uhd.About v8uhd setup the box scan all satellites from 133 west to 30west.And about all scans working no problems net working good biss keys very good and fast.Sofcam ccam all good .I use the last firmware on the box 20200717.About the V8x loading the new firmware 20200716 and the v8nova orange channel list stuck on boot. Then flash the box firmware 20200716 and 20200709 (Flash.bin) and not working.I have all the tools for RS232 but missing the firmware for that.(To all the moderators if possibel giveme one answer about that.Thank you.)About the time on the v8UHD nothing for usa and Canada. But I did manual.
flash.bin recovery is done like this.
Place a copy of the unpacked software (the .bin file) on a USB stick and rename it "flash.bin"
With the USB in the unit, power on while repeat pressing "Menu" on the remote.
The unit should reload the software.
Also other users say that you must use a USB stick, not a card holder etc and that stick must be 32Gb or under.
Use the rear USB port on units that have two ports.
I have had units that will not recover.
Try using the same software as was in the unit when it crashed, not the new update software.
You must use the correct software, ie that for the V7HD for the V7HD etc, not software for any other freesat units.
Try even older software as the file for flash.bin.
Look at the LED in the USB stick. When the TV shows the message "USB Upgrade, do not turn off" you should see the LED on the USB flash as the file is loaded.
The USB LED should also flash a few times as the unit first powers on and looks at it.
Also users have said to use the rear USB port for this on V8 units.
Good luck
New information: Users are reporting that naming the file "Flash.bin" with a capital has worked where "flash.bin" has not.
Re: GTMEDIA_V8 Series Bug Tracking System
V8UHD channel List odd error.
Repeat pressing of the "OK" button makes the list display in error.
this also happens at random from other channels to other random corrupted lists.
I have been able to repeat this starting with a 1080i DVB-T channel.
Below is a gif showing the error.
The channels displayed are the first 6 on my favorites list "My Stuff".
Sometime the 6 channel names displayed are from other lists, including a radio channel. See pic below gif.
These names are all from the DVB-T channel list, both the TV and the one radio channel.
These names form other lists clear if you press "Down".
Already reported to alex_c

.
A second issue with the Channel List.
If the number of channel ends with a zero (30,40,50,60 etc) the pressing the "Right" button will get you stuck on the last channel.
This does not happen if the number of channels does not end with zero.
Please ignore the changing video in the background, getting all the screen shots I need for the .gif takes time.

Priority Low, not a big problem.

I also would like to see these changes in next firmware updateRamboHack wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 5:03 amOne bug that really "bugs me" in my v8UHD, is that you have to delete ALL channels, instead of just one particular channel of one satellite. Or i want to delete all channels from an specific satellite, and i cant, because the only option i have, is to delete ALL channels from ALL satellites, and i dont want that, i just want to delete channels from 1 specific satellite.
Another one:
The info banner, i really need the signal and quality % bars on the info banner, like the v8x.
Also: No encryption displayed. You dont know if the channel is power vu, biss, FTA, irdeto etc etc etc because there isnt any information about this on the info banner.
Another one: On the Autobiss function: when i find a Biss wildfeed, you have the option to select OK or Cancel Autobiss, so i select OK, then 2-5 minutes later "SEED UPLOADED" on screen, 5 seconds later this banner dissapeared, and if i STAY on this channel, i have black screen for 10-15 or more minutes, I HAVE TO CHANGE channel and the returned to the wildfeed channel to get picture on screen. if i stay on the channel, no cw loaded and no picture. As soon as i change channel and get back, everything worked correctly.
If i find some more bugs, i'll let you know
Thanks

The problem with diseqc 1.1 persists in the V8 UHD. When I change channels going to another Satellite, there is no signal on the other Satellite selected on another diseqc port

Re: GTMEDIA_V8 Series Bug Tracking System
V8x Audio problem.
This is a small problem and has a work around but needs attention. When using a channel which has 2nd audio (58w for example Eng/Spa) the first audio works fine. Selecting the 2nd audio you loose sound and have to go up/down a channel to get the 2nd audio. Same happens when you go back to first audio, no sound until you go up/down a channel. It seems the setting is set, but not applied until you change channel. I tested a V7HD and it does not have this problem.

I reported the same error some time ago. how to record a TS file?OK, please record the ts file, I can fix this bug.thankyou.
Re: GTMEDIA_V8 Series Bug Tracking System
I sent the TS recording to @alex.c so he will work on it. If you are using the V8x (or other V7 or V8 stbs) go to MENU > TOOLS > RECORD. Then you select the satellite and transponder and the recording time, it is set for 2 minutes, but I made a recording of 5 minutes in this case. When you have the recording on the USB memory stick then upload it to a cloud server and send the link details to whoever is asking for the file. The 5 minute recording was 1.14Gb. You must have the USB memory plugged in for RECORD to be active.przeeemek1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 8:00 pmI reported the same error some time ago. how to record a TS file?OK, please record the ts file, I can fix this bug.thankyou.

Tambien he probado poniendo 0)
user = xxxxxxxxx
password = xxxxxxxxx
Agradecería un poco de ayuda. Gracias.
Saludos.

I also noticed this problem on V8X but on ARTE channel (Hotbird 13°E) which has more of three audios, everything works well and audios are heard immediately upon track changejuan_vale wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 4:34 pmV8x Audio problem.

I don't know if this information can be useful:
Arte has more of three dolby AC3 audio channels, while the channels where I found this defect are feeds in which the audio is only mpeg, feed was biss encrypted but made clear, Arte is FTA
This is the log of TS recording of feed:

Re: GTMEDIA_V8 Series Bug Tracking System
Please I got a new GTmedia V8 finder two months ago, it worked for just two weeks and now it doesn't detect signal anymore. I've factory reset but still same, I even upgraded the software to see if that would help but it didn't. Any reason or solution for this?
