All Satellite Receivers are generally (Tuned) to be sensitive to pick up Satellite Signals at the factory so the answer to your software question would be - No!

While they can find and add fixes to firmware updates to address issues to make something work that has never worked correctly or has stopped working,,,, I have never heard (in any brand of Satellite Receiver) where they can increase the sensitivity of a receiver through an update. The ability to receive weak Satellite Signals varies slightly from brand to brand and even models in brands of receivers but they are all (Tuned) at the factory just as a Stereo Receiver or TV Receiver's sensitivity to pick up over the air radio or tv signals is tuned at the factory when being assembled/built.

Good Luck ! :D

It will be down to the type / model of turner that they use in the build of the receiver.

I am pleased to hear that the UHD does get the multi stream channels off OptusD1@160e.
I have found that the receiver in my UHD is a little less sensitive than the one in the V8X and just a little less than the V8Pro2.
Having said that I do think that the software for multistream needs a look. It may be the error correction software that is making the picture less, but still the unit reports "No Signal" where the V8X still has a picture.

Error correction is the only part of the software that can be altered for increase in picture.
The Channel 9 Multistream on 12570V26810 Intelsat19@166e is just coming in for me to test with.
The V8X and UHD and now the V8Pro2 with the software upgrades all do this multistream type 1 mux fully.

Did you see the temp feed TP yesterday on Intelsat19@166e 12590V4280 Channel 9HD?
My V8Pro2, V8x and UHD did not blind scan this TP. I found it by chance when using a V8Finder Meter, and later scans with that also did not find that TP. TP powered down around 0620 GMT (my 620pm NZST last night)

I can't get a signal for Multistream channel 9, only eastern Indonesia, Papua.
No !!
I have got a signal for optus D1 at 160 ° e although the signal is still minimal and not all channels I can get because of the beam and the parabolic equipment that I use. maybe I can send the TS file to you to check the channel. Thank you 🙏
