Post by genius5000 »

anyone is having this problem with V8 Super ? ...

It happens especially when I am in the configuration mode/screens, I dont think it happenned yet while watching just TV.
the video gets DISCOLORED and it stays like that for a few minutes or until I switch back/forward my TV's AV/HDMI sources.

is it a known problem ?

Bad HDMi or AV cable. Also, make sure its push in enough. Finally, see if the TV mode is set to AUTO. Maybe its getting hard to the box to set properly when switching screens. Look for your TV specs and set the box to it 720i 720p 1080i etc

HDMIL cable is fine (the HDMI that came with it is by the way terrible!).
my TV (Philips 21:9) can only do 1080p.

long ago this TV had the same issue with a HP laptop which didnt have NVIDIA graphic card.
do you think V8 receicer's graphic card maybe is not compatible with the Philips TV ?

Hi,

In my opinion it is not a problem of V8 Super.
It seems to be poor contact of your TV input.

Try to change the TV's HDMI input to another HDMI input.

HDMI cables are fine ... tested several, same results.
tried with SCART, then no problem occurs.

I think the problem is with that particular Philips 1080p TV (V8 @ 1080p, 1080i, both tried).
I also tried with another old HD-Ready Philips TV, everything is OK with that TV.

So its either my that Philips 1080p TV or its with all 1080p TVs (is it so with you guys?) !

The older TV's with the first HDMI do have problems with these Freesat units as they use the newer format HDMI.

My old Samsung TV says "Format not supported" when I plug in the HDMI from the Freesat STB.
I use AV.
