I try upgrade new firmware on 11-10-2017 many time found error shown "Don't Downgrade the firmware".
next I change name to flash.bin , switch off and turn on both press menu remote repeating for upgrade file but seem like that work.

check menu information occur same old version.

What is trouble this new firmware?

I think they may have changed encryption type as it does not show up as director here any longer on my receiver.
Someone else will have to verify but now it just shows up as "?" on encryption.

I experienced the same thing, I downloaded the firmwere file 11/10/2017 from this forum. and the result is no change after check in softwere information. not the new firmwere, but the same firmwere as before v4.5.115.578. maybe admin uploaded wrong to the forum? please check the files that have been uploaded and upgdare in v8 golden you. it's not a new version which it says version 581

Also confirm it's the same between v.581 and v.578, possible admin or someone be confused. Really new version be releasing soon.

It's so disrespectful for the Freesat service team to be silent about the demands from its numerous customers for a proper firmware for over a week now. I am beginning to regret buying their product. The other satellite box companies give fantastic support to their customers.

I tested yesterday using a Hex compare program and found that the 581 version on the download page yesterday is identical to 578 software.

Lining Please note that V8 Golden V581 is a copy of 578.

FIXED! The current copy V581 on the Download page is V581 and works MTN.

the freesat v8 super with firmware 572 make autorroll 105w TP 3940 and you can backup de new tandberg key.
i was do it. the encriptation is tandberg/director

As well as that, I tried the hard boot way, with renamed as flash.bin, it shoes the message on screen menu. But once it restarted, it's the same old version. Do you have any new version that works flawlessly? I guess I am not the only one....
Thanks in advance. Please make a new version, that works straight out the box in terms of upgrading, just with USB connected, and no "downgrading message", that would be the solution.
