But is SO difficult to see the screen that is paperweight for me. Plus the signal strength is not real measure

I agree that the measure of signal strength is not the only measure of signal quality, but it is already a measure that helps a lot in the note, could add the indication of PWR in V8 Finder (V71HD), but I believe at least in firmware July / 2018 Team GtMedia can implement the power indication screen, signal strength with large numbers on the screen, and also modify the Beep's trigger to only fire when it achieves signal strength, so it would already be an almost perfect optimization in the V71HD Finder!

I hope that Team can make these improvements in this tool, because they are essential!

ohhh wow 91% en SES 4

Where are you?

I can not go down more than 30 and had to put a special antenna on a pole on top of the house and just ONE dish for that SAT

wondering if I can go a little lower

anyway ... yes you are right for the value the idea is OK but need to be refine, is not the same a receiver than a finder

I use the ws 6906 which is a wayyyyyyyyyyy older neither have HD, and works perfect for me, but I wanted an HD one

But this image I got on the internet ... I do not have Satlink, I preferred the Freesat V8 Finder, however, I would very much like the analysts and engineers of Team to implement these improvements because it would be very important for us technicians that we work daily with this tool ... still in the crowd for the Team to meet us ...

Yes, it's a shame, I think the V8 Finder is already gone!
They are just updating lists and just for the E side because W almost nothing updates ... let alone the enhancements that really have made the V8 Finder a powerful working tool with full-size indicators and decent signal strength warning beep .

Abraços do Brasil.

Me too, I have the same problem with my V8 Finder (V71 HD). It was working OK with original firmware V3.02.118.644. I upgraded to V3.02.121.719 and now I can't find satellites anymore.

English: Well, at least in my V71HD, I have this same firmware 06.13.2018 and he agreed I delete all satellites and leave only those used in Brazil, and is working well with this firmware, just repeat, what I believe not possible limitations of the hardware of Freesat, ask them to raise at least the size of the numbers signal strength indicators and signal quality, and modify the beep only when the trigger signal triggers the lease the beep ... but the hardware of Freesat does not allow these modifications, so I will not ask for the impossible.

When I wrote that I can't find satellites anymore, I meant that the signal strength indicator does not work properly anymore, as described in KaritoAngelo's post. I downgraded to various earlier firmware versions but it did not solve the problem. My hardware version is V1.1.0 (25/07/2017) and the original firmware was V3.02.118.644 (11/12/2017). Can anybody give me a copy of that firmware version?

That is weird that is not on the download area, I have exactly the same. Although I have no issue upgrading or downgrading but until certain date
That file is not in that area

from Nov 7(ver 629) jump to Dec 15 (ver 652)

maybe the administration can send you the file or upload it here

Like I said I have no issue with any version. I dont like the menus and presentation but that is only my opinion.

Also for all newbies that are reading this PLEASE:

ALWAYS ALWAYS and ALWAYS disconnect the power of receivers and satellite meters when plugging in or removing the coax(ial) cables. ReMeMbEr the receivers and meters send from 13 to 18 Volts (or a little more) to power the LNB's these equipments are very sensitive a simple short can ruin the modulator

Yes, Full DVB-S2.
Satlink model: 6933

Thanks to Maam64, Marsat and Blank for your help. My issue is more or less solved. Actually my V8-Finder V71HD works O.K.. I was just confused because the V8-Finder's signal strength indicator performs rather poorly. Eventually I used a separate signal strength meter together with the V8-Finder to set up my multi-satellite dish. The V8-Finder V71HD is very good value for the price, though. I'll keep on using it!

Yes the signal strength is not accurate it does the trick though

Oh, I see. Pretty useless for me. I delete them anyways and add my own sat list.

I didn't bother updating my V8 finder for months now since I don't really see any changes. haha
