V8 Problem

Post by ollie2018uk »

Hi,

When I go to try and align to 28.2e I cant't seem to find it, the V8 never seems to get over 40% on the signal strength. However If I turn it off and then on it will lock onto the 1st TP?! Is this normal?

Check that you have the correct switch settings for your cable / LNB set up.

Also if you have a universal LNB you need to set for that too.
When aligning the dish, go to the TP menu and use the signal strength there on a TP you know works well.
You need to move slowly and wait for the signal meter in the V8 to catch up.

I use an already scanned in channel with the TV volume up and tune the dish slowly until I hear the channel.

I hope this explains something for the problem you are having.

Thanks Owen,

My settings are correct for the LNB, I guess i'm expecting too much from a £60 piece of kit?!

I too resorted to your method, which kind of makes the V8 redundant!!

You must be talking about a V8 Finder. I assumed you had a V8 Super or golden.
