New software is due at the end of the month.

The older units were Openbox V8, Combo and Pro. The new units are Freesat V8 golden and V8 Super and the angel.
If you have a V8 Combo / pro there is a new version of software from September.
The V8 golden and Super are expecting new software, that was due at the end of October.

I disagree.
Freesat, "Winsat Technology Limited" made and sold and still provides updates for the Openbox V8 combo and the Openbox V8 Pro.

If you do not know if your V8 is a Freesat Openbox V8 or other Openbox product, perhaps you can check with this tech forum that looks to be other manufactured V8 Openbox product.

OK yes there is some confusion re Openbox V8.

This Freesat site does have support for the "Openbox V8 Combo" and the "Openbox V8 Pro".

I brought my "Openbox V8 Combo" and the "Openbox V8 Pro" from Yojia via Aliexpress.
I have shown these models in my post on this forum on Wed Nov 02, 2016 4:50 pm.
That picture is from Freesat's XL spread sheet catalog.

There are other makers of Openbox as well.
There are also makers of copies of the new Freesat V7HD as well, as warned of on this site.

So yes there is support on this site for the "Openbox V8 Combo" and the "Openbox V8 Pro".
These units are now listed as "Freesat V8 Combo" and "Freesat V8 Pro". They were sold and labeled as Openbox.
This is a picture of my three units, two V8 Combos and my V8 Pro.
This site offers software updates for these two units.

There is no support on this site for the unit like the one zcache showed above.
I have no doubt that there are other models of Openbox out there.
This site supports those kinds of Openbox, as I have listed above, and I direct people to the support for those units.
