DISEQC Configuration of V8 Nova

Post by Rishirajpoot »

There are various DISEQC configurations given in antenna settings like
DiSEqC1.0: Port 1,2,3,4
DiSEqC1.1:
Disable
1 Cascade M1 Port 1,2,3,4
1Cascade M2 Port 1,2,3,4
1 Cascade M3 Port 1,2,3,4
2Cascade Port 1,2,3,4.5....16
Now my problem is that when i connected 4x1 committed diseqc switch to any one output of 8x1 Uncommitted switch it works on some port but not on others.........so request you to elaborate the settings given like what is M1,M2,M3 etc and proper way to configure.

4X1 and 8X1 cascading is a market standard switch configuration. I usually used 4X1 with 2Cascade 1 thru 8 when using 8X1

My cascade configuration is (i.e 8x1 and then 4x1)

DiSEqC1.0: Port 3
DiSEqC1.1: 2Cas Port 6
on port 3 of 4x1 switch Universal KU band LNB connected

and DiSEqC1.0: Port 2
DiSEqC1.1: 2Cas Port 6
on port 2 of 4x1 switch C-band LNB connected

Now the problem is that receiver recognize C- band LNBon port 2 but not KU band LNB on port 3

Have you try another 4X1? Have you try switching C Band to port 3 to test if the port is ok?? Do you have the 4X1 in front pf the 8X1 or the 8X1 first?

Problem solve now :)
Culprit in my case is RG-6 wire between diseqc switches....it is acting like a band pass filter :P

I found that some switches switch power only, not signal as well.
This means that if you are sharing the LNB between two units, the signal from one LNB will pass through the switch to the second unit and clashes with the signals already there.

Note: only a problem if you are using two set top boxes.
