Don't Buy V8 angel

Postby eumesmo » Sat Sep 10, 2016 2:19 pm

V8 angel has several problems, I advise you not to buy if you need DVB-C.
DVB-C is the only service I can have, and i have a V8 Golden that works fine.

I got my V8 Angel yesterday and using same cables from 8 Golden it doesn't scan all channels, and signal is only 50% as in V8 Golden is 95%, don't know if it is a software problem or hardware problem.

When i try to do a manual scan and input the frequencies for the channels that are missing, v8 angel doesn't get any channel, at least in this ones
frequency S. Rate Modulation
121500 6000 QAM256
170500 6000 QAM265
184500 6000 QAM128
219500 6000 QAM256
240500 6000 QAM256
247500 6000 QAM128
254500 6000 QAM256
261500 6000 QAM256

Where i live channels are on this frequencies:
frequency S. Rate Modulation
121500 6000 QAM256
170500 6000 QAM265
184500 6000 QAM128
219500 6000 QAM256
240500 6000 QAM256
247500 6000 QAM128
254500 6000 QAM256
261500 6000 QAM256
306000 6875 QAM256
330000 6875 QAM256
354000 6875 QAM256
362000 6875 QAM256
386000 6875 QAM256
426000 6875 QAM256
474000 6875 QAM256
490000 6875 QAM256
546000 6875 QAM256
562000 6875 QAM128
570000 6875 QAM128
586000 6875 QAM256
594000 6875 QAM256
602000 6875 QAM256
610000 6875 QAM256
626000 6875 QAM128
634000 6875 QAM128
658000 6875 QAM256
674000 6875 QAM256
690000 6875 QAM256
714000 6875 QAM64

i'm still analyzing channels backup, as it is a SQLite DB file, if i can add manually the information of any channel that is missing.

So don't buy if you need DVB-C with this frequencies, as i don't have any satellite dish to test it on.

Also it doesn't support encrypted channels recording, you can do it on V8 Golden.

Some problem here!
I tested with Annex A/C provider and another Annex B provider, detect signal but not lock.
I'm waiting for the update.

Also CCCAM not working properly, a lot of freezes, on v8 golden same account works without trouble, this box is not ready for use.

hope firmware update fix this problems, or else i have wasted money!

hello.
i agree, angel box seems to be a pile of wasted money for me as well.
im using only terrestial part of it and my cons are:
1: while switching between channels, it is really slow, often have to wait more then 15 seconds
2: it crashes while changing channels more than twice per night
3: while it crashes or loosing even wifi connection for couple of seconds, have to reconfigure card sharing

so, it became a pain in my back. no firmware updates since august, etc.
another 2 boxes i have are V8 pro combo's, those still working with more or less issues, but acceptable.

better not to buy V8 angel.

sorry, i forgot few more issues:

if there is no connection with card server it does not inform you about encrypted channel or network issues.
and this is not all yet!
even if there is (conax)card inserted to the box itself and changing channels too fast per minute it will show you
dark blank (or frozen previous) screen, instead of noticing you there something wrong (encrypted channel, etc) so you have to climb in darkness

and, ok, while im here, have to make third post, sorry for trashing our forum here :)

angel has a strange bluetooth issue: while bluetooth output devices (speakers, headphones etc.) are nicely paired and playing sound, they will disconnect and reconnect at every RF signal loss or card decryption delay ( most of BT sound devices are producing annoing pairing noises).

Is Annex B provider's signal a J.83(A&C) signal?

It seems that Annex B provider's signal is a DVBC j.83B signal, and angel box only support DVBC j.83A&C signal now.

I feel like scammed because I purchased it only for j.83B and after I received it, they said isn't j.83B compatible anymore.
BTW, with annex a/c doesn't work too.
