I have a prime focus dish. I have always used "C" band. Today I decided to hook up the Ku side of the lnb and play with it.
At first, I thought perhaps the Ku side of the lnb was not working because I couldn't get signal from any linear polarized transponders. I then pointed at 121w and could receive some of the circular polarized transponders.
I have the LNB peaked for C band. Rotation of LNB, elevation and azimuth.
Im thinking perhaps the Ku part of the lnb may need to be rotated independently of the C side of the LNB.
Anyone here encounter a similar problem? What did you do to fix this issue?
Thanks!

Re: Prime Focus Ku alignment issues
For KU band, I would think a universal lnb would be best, then you would be able to receive channels in the low / high bands.
The lnb settings in the receiver would be (9750 -10600).
Also have a look at (dish pointer), this site may be of some help.

Re: Prime Focus Ku alignment issues
If you are using a Ku / C combined LNB, I find these need the line of the LNB to be very correct to the center of the dish.
You do loose a little of the signal with the combined units.
Check what low frequency the Ku part has.

Do you have a mesh dish or a solid dish? If it is a mesh dish with too large of holes, it will not pick up ku band very well
