V9 Super

Post by bernie »

Hello. New member here. I see lots of people have the V7 & 8. Does anyone have the V9 Super? I ordered one recently. I am wondering how these small sized boxes perform. Do they get too hot like the old Pansat 9200 box did?

Some users have reported heat problems with the V7HD which is just as small.
Some have added fans or heat sinks around the LNB connection.

Thanks Feralkiwi. I still have the fans I used to cool off the old Pansat so if the V9 gets too hot I can use those.

I want to know if your v9 super works fine on decoding powervu , biss and tandberg?.
I was noticed that many users have a severals troubles. A seller says that device as rigth to IKS .

Hi cabroncio. Well my experience so far has been not positive. member Rambo in another thread mentioned " now the v9 super only for Spain . we are trying to fix many problems ASAP. sorry for making your trouble." in response to problems with adding a keyboard to the V9. I am using my V9 in canada
so i have other issues as well. to summarize pros and cons:

PROS

- Good picture quality
- H.265 support
- auto roll powervu key

CONS

- manually entered Powervu keys don't work - have to upload softcam file
- softcam file powervu keys don't work most times
- unit doesn't save autoroll key in softcam file - erased after power cycle
- channel editor not compatible with V7 or V8 files
- "motor moving message" stays onscreen too long when blind scanning
- after channel change unit forgets powervu key - have to power cycle unit
- more expensive than V7 or V8 to do same job
- hard time after upgrading to latest firmware to get unit to reboot properly. It stops working then have to rename bin file to abs and reload.
- poor USB keyboard support
- sat/IP streaming only working correct to mobile device
- no north American satellite list

I am not sure if Tandberg or director keys work.

ok so after re-entering the powervu keys in the new format the V9 does work with the PV keys by softcam. However it still takes a VERY long time to re-open a channel after a channel change, so back to my V7HD.
