BBC SAT BACK CHANNELS AT 15W

Post by STRETCH »

The said channels are working with another receiver, just scan the transponder 11043V 44100, then add the keys, same as 27.5W.
Have tried with various GTMedia receivers, they DO NOT clear the channels.

I think an upgrade of the receivers is necessary, it's not just a question of keys.
Initially it was not possible to see the BBC on 27.5° W with the GTMedia receivers.

V8X (Mars) BBC SAT BACK 15W

Post by STRETCH »

Carried out a scan on 15w for the channels of the BBC SAT-BACK, again with a receiver that had Mars software, again found the said channels,
this time, they cleared. Will try with other receivers that have Mars software, and will report what i find.

Have tried a few more GTMedia receivers which have Mars software V8UHD / V7Pro / V8X times 2 ALL of which found the said channels BUT
did not decode the said channels, all receivers have the latest keys.

Put back the V8X that decoded the channels, all worked, so do not know what is going on, has software V1.10.8703 8 NOV 2023.

Found that the issue that i had was the SOFTCAM details was not the same in ALL receivers.
Using the V8UHD as the test receiver, found the details in the receiver from the V8X that worked which was a (Keys file dated 24 FEB 2024)
Details as follows;
B 448419C9 00000:00000:V:000:0000 XXXXXXXXXXXXXX; BBC1
B B504A934 00000:00000:V:000:0000 XXXXXXXXXXXXXX; BBC2

Using the USB downloaded the softcam from the V8X receiver that worked, then loaded onto the V8UHD, worked just fine, tried the same softcam
details in the V7Pro, this also worked fine.

I added the following details onto the softcam
B IFFF 11043:44100:V:015:0000 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX;W
Channels were still been decoded with this added line.

Carried out another test with the softcam, removed the lines 448419C and B504A934, channels were still be decoded.

Update on this thread, the said channels ALL clear with various GTMedia receivers.
Make sure that the softcam details are correct for each model.

If you use the softcam that is from the cloud make sure it the one dated 24 Feb 2024, details as follows.

B 448419C9 00000:00000:V:000:0000 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ; BBC 1
B B504A934 00000:00000:V:000:0000 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ; BBC 2
Upload this softcam to a USB, rename it (softcam) then you can put this information into other GTMedia receivers with or with out Mars.

If you update your softcam with a update each time the receiver get a new one (those with Mars software) these details may be deleted.

If you make your own softcam for your receivers info as follows

B 0000 11043:44100:V XXXXXXXXXXXXXX ; BBC 15W
B 0000 11495:44100:V XXXXXXXXXXXXXX ; BBC 27.5W
This format can be used on the following receivers, V7Pro/V7S2X/V7S5X/V8X/V8UHD/V8NOVA ORANGE/V8Turbo
May be able to be used on the V8 NOVA BLUE.

You can also use this format.
B 1FFF 11043:44100:V:015:0000 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ;W
B 1FFF 11495:44100:V:27.5:0000 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ;W

Just checked a softcam from the cloud, off a V8X receiver which has Mars software.
Checked against (lyngsat), the satellite at 122.2E Asiasat9, in the softcam it is shown as (122).

OK
Thanks, a new format then.
Do they also do 101w as 101 or as 258? 360-101=259

Would be a much simpler way to do it just 101.

Most STB's now ignore the data anyway and just look at all codes.
The long /TP data is for people, not the box.

Yes, they just use the first numbers.
This is against the (Biss) transponders, plus the transponders are in number order.

With the signal now been switched off from the satellite at 27.5w.
The said channels can now only be received from 15w Telstar Vantage with a tight foot print.
Can users report if they can receive the said channels, with what size dish, location, also receiver.
With this information, users then may be able to see if they can receive the said channels.
For me i am based in the West Midlands UK, using various dishes / receivers, ranging from 100cm / 90cm / Sky (Size 2). Various GTMedia models.

Some reception reports outside the UK on this new position of the BBC at 15° WEST dish size and decoders used would be useful.
But even if the channels are not visible, is the signal always present?
