I use a 11 foot dish I use to get it with a 10 foot dish not sure how small you can get away with on this sat never tried anything smaller I am sure it depends on the foot print on this sat go to lyngsat.com and check the foot print and see if it covers your location and if not how far away outside of the print you are will determine how big of a dish you need and if you are wayyyyy out side of the foot print you probably will not get a lock on it. it took a 11 foot dish for me to get a lock on the 115w and i am about 250 miles outside of the foot print on that sat.
