GTC new UI testing and findings

Post by nikhulion »

Hi All,

After few days of usage of new update, below are the things which came across.

1. Patch key menu is not there, only can see CS protocol with CCCAM, NEWCAM, MGCAM.
2. Protocol Debugger is crashing when we try to open it.
3. When we are watching A channel and navigate to B channel (down or Up) by remote key and from B channel when we pess OK button to get the channel list the select channel in that list will be A.
4. When we opening some scrambled channels through CCCAM there is message showing "this channel name changed, Updating" (something like this).
5. CCCAM is not working fine some time, we need to fo CS protocol menu and then exist and it will start working.
6. CHannel name is not showing in info bar always.

More i will post later.

Have you tried this new update? They finally restored importing softcam.

Though the subtitles still doesn't work. :(

I could not upload the old one, it gives an error. Why is this latest version not installed the same?

Try to flash this old version first: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=5915

Then proceed with the OTA update.

Yes i have updated that. This update i got after i posting it. Some of the issue like cccam and patches came back.

CCCam is still opening slowly, but once channel opened it is stable no freezing.

i got a line which is opening in some local cheap receiver, but same like is not opening in Freesat any model, it shows the line is online And slow opening line is opening fast in those cheap receiver.

Other findings.
1. Need channel Grouping, not sorting. Like we need to move the channels (eg: channels from no 10 to move to no 2), here sorting with alphabet and numeric wont work.
2. DVB is still slow to open the channel list. when there is more than 500 Channels. Currently i have 1286 channels tuned.
3. Grouping of HEVC is missing in channel list, before it was there.
4. Still the box time is slow to update from internet. When the box on it is in its default time and we need to wait for the real time to open other apps like youtube, google related apps, etc.
5. I see picture clarity is bit lower than previous version. ( i felt).

Suggestion:
If you can highlight what all the information we need to take from a channel to add in softcam key (for powervu, biss )it will be great help. You can show in channel list right side bar in bold.

This one totally true.
We need patch key we don't need softcam.
We wanted you to work hard on HEVC channels no matter what they are.
And we wanted you to add a VANILLA PROTOCOL SERVER.
Many thanks
