Let me disagree with you, Android is a Linux system, it has a linux kernel, it depends on how system is built, on GTC it uses DVB API, so oscam works with it, drivers are there, and also firmware files for tuner, i will try to get root access and then search for them.
and let me STOP everybody!
Android is based on Linux
But is not he Linux you may know like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Centos
so saying that you can not run on linux your android apps nor you can run known linux programs on Android
So ???
Well Google developers use Linux ONLY as part of the CORE, but they don't use the libraries and software that uses Linux distribution, that is WHY you do not find the "drivers"
As
eumesmo pointed out it JUST is the KERNEL, and because is Linux is an open source Google can modify it as they please.
As PS4 does
That is why still learning. I have so many languages in my head, now old guy I do not know what to write on,
So to make you laugh I remember at the University making a line with punched cards and wait 3 days to them process in Fortran 4 and the computer lab was almost a whole building, what we now have a phone or a tablet
The Basic C, C+, Cobol Pascal all gone
Now leave me with my html, PHP, css, python my Ubuntu and Centos
Dont like Java nor Android but personal taste
My personal opinion the idea of this decoder is GREAT having iptv for one side, satellite and terrestrial for less than US $100
However technically the error as base this on Android and not completely on linux, again is my opinion
The other option ( just speaking out loud due I do not have the schematics( is do a partition and separate operating system leaving android on one side and the other look something compatible for tuner part. However I do not know is viable or not, or if it is worth it for the manufacturer start from zero.
My 2 cents
