Kingoroot did not work for me. I used ezroot from here - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9BFwC ... sp=sharing .

1. Download the minix_u1_ez_root.zip file from the below link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9BFwC ... sp=sharing

2. Unzip the ez-root file and put the 3 files on a USB or SDcard. Make sure they are in the root directory and not in a folder. It's best if they are the only files on the USB/SDcard.

ezroot.zip
recovery.img
factory_update_param.aml

3. Power off your GTC. Now insert the USB or SDcard into your GTC and power it back on.

4. Go to Home--> Apps--> Update--> local update. Select ezroot.zip and press OK.

5. The GTC will reboot, install the update and return to the Home screen.

6. Now go to Home--> Setting--> Device--> About--> Build--> and then press the OK button 7 times. This will enable Developer mode.

7. That's it! Your GTC is now Rooted!!

I've used it several times on version 37 and it worked every time.

Does your GTC boot up normally after power off?
Are you using a USB stick or an SD card?

Hi
After selecting the zip root it goes to reboot and restart on boot screen and just freeze for more than 20 mins. Then I unpluged and turn on atarted normally but no root. I used USB and only 3 files in it

It looks like you are doing everything correctly. I don't know why it is not working for you.

I test and experiment a lot. I go between v32 and v37 frequently. This method has always worked for me.

The only time it locks up in boot on me is when I tried it on v32 which is already root. I see you are running v37 so it should work.

It probably won't make any difference, but try formatting the usb and copying the files to it again. Check the partitions on the USB stick. Maybe there is a hidden partition. I have used it on a 2GB Sandisk and a 8GB Verbatim. Don't use too large of a USB stick.

Another option would be to enter recovery mode (use Reini Reboot from the app store if needed and select "Reboot recovery") Once you are at the Android Recovery screen select "Apply update from EXT". Then select "Update from udisk". Then select "ezroot.zip". Hopefully this will root your GTC.

If you still don't have root and SuperSU hasn't been added as an app by the root process, then I guess you will need to try another method to root.

This is the only method I use. Maybe someone else could offer some help on how they were able to root v37.

Sorry, You are correct.

If you can get into recovery mode, I think you will be able to install ezroot. You can watch the commands in the window and see if it installed or see any errors it may have had.

Good Luck........
