GT Media V9 Super 4K?

Post by Кыргыз Бала »

Dear friends. For some reason it does not show 4K television but only the sound goes on the receiver, written by H. 265

V9 super will show H.265 1080 channels but will not 4K

This is correct. H.265 is NOT the same as 4k (resolution).

The name of the box is "GT Media V9 Super" NOT "... Super 4k"

It's max output resolution is 1080p. It can decode H.265 channels but cannot display those greater than 1080p.

Your only option (and I don't know if this is possible because I am not familiar with this box) is to see if you can stream those 4k channels to a pc and use vlc to display.

Some channels are HEVC (h.265) encoded but are NOT 4k but 1080 or less. This receiver will tune and display those channels. It will never display 4k content whether it is encoded with h.264 or h.265 or any other format.

I don't know why it's reporting MPEG(0x0) perhaps this content confuses the receiver but even having it display H.265 instead still wouldn't change anything.

It's a common mistake. Since it says "1080p" then that's all it can output BUT the only question I would have is can it scale a native 4k input stream down to 1080 and output it that way ?

However to my knowledge there is no such box on the market.

H.265 is a compression format, not a resolution.
H.265 can be 576, 1080 and 4k.
H.265 has less data sent, but does use a lot more computer time and power to display.
