Question about V7Pro DiSEqC

Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
Hi All.
I first tested with the test version V254 that was emailed to me.
This did switch DiSEqC, but sent the commands 16 times for each switch setting, so 32 times for both 1.1 and 1.0.
This made the channel change about 3-5 seconds due to the time it takes to send all those extra commands.
I then saved my newly made channel list / user file and installed the V255 that is listed on the forum.
After reloading my user file the unit worked fully as any other good working unit, including Motor control.
Question for those of you who have had this issue?
When you first got your V7Pro unit, did you try to load your old user file from an older V7 unit?
I think I did.
This may have messed up the unit and where it looked for its DiSEqC commands in the new user file that it created.
Question: Has any user fixed this issue with just loading V255 from the download page?
I ask this as it may be we need to first load the test version V254 and then V255 to fix this.
Owen
I may be brave and try messing up my unit by again loading an old V7 user file.

Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
To help with this issue, when i received this receiver, i set it up from SCRATCH.
I set the receiver up with a motor for satellites from 45e to 30w, so far have not had a issue, when i send the motor to each satellite to view channels.
I then purchased another V7Pro, with this receiver, i transfered the data from my first V7Pro to this new unit, then went about to add a 8 way Diseq switch, set up as follows,( 1. 28e / 2. 39e / 3. 30w / 4. 5e / 5. 3e / 6. 19e / 7. 5w / 8. Not used., again, i have not had any issue with the receiver, switching to each satellite, to scan in the channels, finding the transponders that i require, this was with the software V242 23 DEC 2020.
Have got the latest software V255 on both receivers, have not got any issues (as yet).
Hope this helps.

My concern was loading a user file from an older V7 unit like the V7Plus or V7 Combo.
I may try loading an old file again to recreat the fault, but the V7Pro is the best signal sensitive unit I have and it work well on my local multistreem TP.

I did some loads of older V7s and V7HD user files onto my V7Pr0 with V255 software and all did not create this DiSEqC issue.

Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
I downloaded the new software V256
I unpacked the .zip folder and copied a file to my USB.
What I did not note was the unpacked file was just named "GTMedia_V7Pro.bin"
I had instead copied "GTMedia_V7Pro_Release_20201029.bin"
The V7Pro had V255 in the unit and I was allowed to load this older file.
With that file, V230, the DiSEqC fault was present again, only DiSEqC 1.0 port one command is sent.
I upgraded to V255 again and all is working.
I then upgraded to V256, and again all is working.
Each time I USB upgraded to my current user file that was made after V254.
I tested if changing LNC settings and powering off at the wall did or did not save the settings, like before.
All setting were saved regardless of power off method.
It does look like V255 and up fixes the Non DiSEqC command fault.

Please GT Media:
Can we have a standard format for software release.
GTMEDIA_V7Pro_Release_20201223.zip opened with just the file "GTMEDIA_V7Pro_Release_20201223.bin"
GTMEDIA_V7Pro_Release_V255_20210126.zip opened with a folder named "GTMEDIA_V7Pro_Release_V255_20210126" and a file inside "V7Pro_Release_V255_20210126.bin
GTMEDIA_V7Pro_Release_V256_20210129.zip opened with just the file named "GTMedia_V7Pro.bin"
Can we have all releases as .zip folder with another folder inside with the .bin file inside that folder.
In the past other releases have had the change log added as a file as well.
eg: "GTMEDIA_V7Pro_Release_Vxxx_DateXXX.zip" then folder "GTMEDIA_V7Pro_Release_Vxxx_DateXXX" then file "GTMEDIA_V7Pro_Release_Vxxx_DateXXX.bin"
I unpacked the .zip folder and copied a file to my USB.

I had wondered if you do need to first install V254, an emailed test version.
Did you try making a new user file and not install your existing file?
I will email you a copy of V254.
This version V254 fixed mine and then I used V255 from the forum download page.
V254 does send the DiSEqC command a LOT of times and channel change time is slow as it waits for the 32 commands to be sent, but it did fix my V7Pro.
I am enjoying using my V7Pro now as it has the best sensitive receiver yet and gets my local multistream TP.

I use only DisEqC 1.2 to drive my 6 feet dish. Release_20201223 and earlier ver it did not move an inch.
Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
Before installing the new firmware, did you make a backup (user DB) that you reinstalled after loading the new firmware? Or did you just upload the new firmware ?. Could you tell me what version of HW you have? I have V2.01 01/04/2020. Thank you in advance.

please update the newest version 256 from viewtopic.php?f=39&t=19756
after that,if the diseqc can not be worked, you can find an option on the menu System-->other-->Diseqc repeat times, you can change the times till the diseqc working.
Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
Hi, I installed both V255 and V256 and tried to change the Diseqc repeat times from 1 to 30 but the motor still doesn't move. I also tried moving the dish with another RX and memorizing the positions and then seeing if with the V7Pro it moved, but doesn't move. Thanks anyway to everyone for the suggestions.

If you did not get the attachment let me know.
Try that and then add and scan some satellites to test.
Then update to V265.

Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
I managed to get the engine running! I'm using USUALS (which is more convenient for me), but DiSEqC works too (Firmware V256). I was confused and I did not realize that I was doing the tests with the cable connected directly to the LNB and not to the one with the motor (I have a TWIN LNB). I often use usals to move the dish to a satellite and then switch to DiSEqC motor control and fine tune it using a weak TP and then save a DiSEqC position.

Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
For v7pro SW verson 302 I have problems with diseqc commands. Namely combination from left does not work, I cannot catch 2 sattelites (16e & 19.2e) on diseqc input 1, so command diseqc 1.1 does not work proprely.
Only solution I have found is to put cables from quad monoblock on inputs 1 and 2 of diseqc 2, but that is not a solution when I have single monoblock.

Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
The switch you show is most likely a DiSEqC 1.0 command switch.
Try using the 1.0 commands not the 1.1.
Remember also that the mono block uses a switch method to change satellites.
If that is 22kHz on for the second satellite than OK.
If it is DiSEqC 1.0 commands then you need to get a DiSEqC 1.1 command switch to use before the mono block LNB.
I would think the mono block does use DiSEqC 1.1 as it would also use a universal LNB frequency of 9750/10600 that uses the 22kHz on / off for upper and lower bands.
Most 1.1 switches are 8 port.
Let me know what part number / brand etc your mono block is so I can check what switching it uses.
If it is a universal 9750/10600 LNB then it definitely uses DiSEqC 1.0 to switch satellites.

Re: Question about V7Pro DiSEqC
OK
From those links, yes your switch is the wrong type.
It is DiSEqC 1.0 and the link for the mono block LNB also uses DiSEqC 1.0, ports A and B.(port 1 and 2 in the 1.0 settings in your GT Media V7).
With that setup the switch AND the LNB will both change to port 2.
So with that switch you can connect port 1 and 2 to the mono block and the other single LNB to port three.
Then use the DiSEqC 1.0 setting in the antenna settings menu, not the 1.1 setting.
When you switch to port one both the mono block and the switch will set to port 1 / LNB A
When you switch port 2 both you will get port 2 and LNB B.
with port 3 the mono block LNB is disconnected and just the single LNB should work.
Non of that will work if as I think you say you have a single port mono block LNB?
If you have a splitter you can try this.
Port 1 and two of the DiSEqC 1.0 switch to two outputs of the splitter and the input to the single output Mono block.
Port 3 to the other LNB.
Not the best set up but it should work.
Order a DiSEqC 1.1 switch, normally an 8 port.
