If your AFN channels scramble, just wait 3-7 minutes

Postby CHI » Mon Aug 06, 2018 8:34 am

As you all know that AFN usually changes keys every now and then! But now the freesat team have done a very great job and generously have updated almost all their decoders with the latest Powervu which emulate very fast.
If you wakeup in the morning and the AFN have scrambled don't panic, let it stay for like 3-7 minutes it will roll automatic.

You will require the latest software plus keys to watch the channels that you require.

if you look in the DOWNLOAD CENTRE, you will find what you require.
Keys, if you (goggle) a powervu site you should find the keys you require to clear the channels you require, then the auto roll should kick in.

I don't have the V8 golden, but if it's close to the V8 Super or the V8 Nova you will be very happy with the Picture and Sound.

you dont need anything just install the latest firmware from this site and scan the channel and then just wait for about 10 minutes or less it will start working

Could we please get a little more specific? I own the V8 Super and Nova with the latest firmware installed. Will either one of these boxes unscrambled AFN channels with no need for additional keys? Which NA satellites have these channels?
Thanks, Hank :?: :?: :?:

Yes Hank. I get AFN auto roll from Isat18@180e, on my V8 Golden with this latest software.
It can take a long time up to 30 minutes.

Thank you Owen for your reply. Currently, with my Nova pointing at Galaxy 16 99⁰ W for over 30 minutes I am getting many ABC and other unscramble channels but so far no AFN channels. I will try my V8 Super and see what happens.
Thanks, Hank

My V8 Super took 18 minutes on average in order to decode the AFN of KoreaSat 5.

And how about the MTN channels on 34 W? There's no better satellite in order to watch news!

Those of you getting AFN channels on Galaxy 16 at 99.0°W, what transponder are they on? I have been unsuccessful getting them on my V8 Super and Nova. So the question is what am I doing wrong? Lyngsat shows them here:

Thanks, Hank ;)

If you have entered the new AFN firmware and it does not work then you might need to delete that transponder and re-enter it and re-scan . I've had to do that sometimes before and it worked. I have AFN on G-16 3901 V 27499 on a V7hd.
